Originally built in 1888 as the Miller-Crockett house, it is one of the five remaining Victorian homes of twelve that were originally built along the Colorado River. The home was occupied by Leslie Crockett, a descendant of Davy Crockett, and his wife Mary Ann Miller for over 60 years before it was converted into a bed and breakfast in the mid-nineties.

In 2008, Bunkhouse renovated and reopened the property as Hotel Saint Cecilia. The hotel's design philosophy embodies a love for the elegance of old-world luxury and the irreverence of cultural icons like The Rolling Stones, Bill Burroughs, Anne Sexton, and Hunter S. Thompson, among others. The property includes five suites, six poolside bungalows, six garden suites, and three studios, each of which is uniquely designed with art, vintage decor, and modern amenities.

The hotel's secluded property and lush grounds are open only to hotel guests, providing a sense of privacy just steps away from the vibrant heart of South Austin. The hotel lobby is located next to the lounge at the center of the property and offers a variety of guest amenities and opportunities. This building has an accessible path of travel to the entrance. The lobby is also home to the Saint Cecilia's retail store, which carries a selection of items from travel necessities to souvenirs, as well as a variety of local and international craftspeople. Some items, such as the custom indigo robe and Eloi silk scarf, are available exclusively in the lobby store.

Saint Cecilia's 50-foot heated lap pool is the hotel's crowning jewel and is open to guests twenty-four hours a day. Guests can also enjoy seated poolside dining under the arbor for breakfast and light fare. The hotel's covered terrace, located above the lounge, is perfect for an intimate meal, cocktail party, or business meeting for 6 to 20 guests. The terrace offers a stunning view of the city and overlooks the hotel's beautiful grounds.
