  • Postcard Cabins was founded in 2015 by Jon Staff, who sought relief from the fast-paced world of startups. After a transformative road trip in a 26-foot Airstream, Jon realized the growing need for spaces where people could disconnect and reconnect with nature. Partnering with college friend Pete Davis, they launched their first cabin, Ovida, in southern New Hampshire. The concept quickly caught on, leading to a second location in New York. By 2016, the company rebranded as Postcard Cabins and expanded its network of peaceful retreats, offering urbanites serene escapes just two hours from major cities.

Today, Postcard Cabins operates 29 locations, each offering private woodland retreats designed with a focus on simplicity and nature. The cabins, ranging from 140 to 200 square feet, are constructed with wood, glass, and metal, providing a warm, organic atmosphere. Large windows capture stunning views of sunrises, starry skies, and peaceful landscapes, while each cabin is named after the grandparents of team members and guests for a personal touch.

The thoughtfully appointed cabins feature queen beds or bunk beds, linens, a two-burner stove, mini-fridge, sink, toilet, and a hot shower with essential toiletries. Climate control ensures comfort year-round, and outdoor amenities like fire pits, grilling grates, and seating create the perfect setting for stargazing. With a curated mini-library, cookware, and dishware, guests are encouraged to unplug with a cell phone lockbox. Pet-friendly cabins are available, with amenities like dog bowls, treats, and waste bags. For added safety, landlines are available in areas with limited cell service.

Select locations, such as Talladega Valley, Eastern Catskills, Machimoodus, Shenandoah, and Starved Rock, feature upgraded Outdoor Suites with expanded outdoor areas, hammocks, chef’s stations, and string lights for an enhanced retreat experience. Flexible early check-in and late check-out options allow guests to maximize their time immersed in nature, ensuring every stay at Postcard Cabins is a rejuvenating one.
